Masters in Ireland for Indian Students 2027: Fees, Entry and Jobs

Masters in Ireland for Indian Students
Masters in Ireland for Indian Students

A masters in Ireland for Indian students costs EUR 17,000 a year for Maynooth’s MSc Data Science and Analytics (2026/27) and EUR 39,640 for UCD’s full-time MBA (2027/28), the two ends of our fee table. On most courses, Trinity and UCD ask for IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each band. After a Level 9 master’s, you get 12 months on Stamp 1G, renewable for 12 more if you show you’ve looked for graduate work. Most taught master’s courses run one year full time. Studying in Ireland also puts you in an English-speaking country that uses the euro.

Key Takeaways

  • Table fees run from EUR 17,000 (about INR 18.05 lakh, Maynooth, 2026/27) to EUR 39,640 (about INR 42.09 lakh, UCD MBA, 2027/28).
  • A realistic Dublin year one is about EUR 57,040 (about INR 60.56 lakh) on UCD’s 2027/28 Business Analytics and AI MSc.
  • A 2:1 (upper second) means 65% at Galway and Maynooth; UCC normally expects a first (75%).
  • 3-year degree: Maynooth accepts it at the same marks if your final year had a project, thesis, dissertation or internship.
  • The visa needs EUR 10,000 (about INR 10.62 lakh) of living money plus fees; a sanction letter alone won’t do.
  • Up to 24 months on Stamp 1G; a Critical Skills permit needs at least EUR 36,848 (about INR 39.12 lakh) within 12 months of qualifying.

Masters in Ireland Fees by University and Programme, 2026/27 and 2027/28

For 2027/28 entry, University College Cork’s Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences MSc costs non-EU students EUR 21,714 (approx. INR 23.06 lakh), while its Data Science and Artificial Intelligence MSc costs EUR 29,614 (approx. INR 31.44 lakh) on UCC’s 2027/28 fee schedule. Within one university, the subject moves the fee by nearly EUR 8,000, so price courses, not campuses.

According to QS World University Rankings 2027, Trinity is 75th in the world, UCD joint 100th, UCC 220th, Galway 275th, Limerick joint 388th and DCU 408th. Maynooth, the cheapest row (2026/27 fee), sits in the 721-730 band.

Entry Requirements for a Master’s in Ireland with an Indian Degree

At UCC and Galway, a 2:2 (lower second) is 55%, a 2:1 (upper second) is 65% and a first is 75%; Maynooth sets 60%, 65% and 75%. UCC normally expects a first from Indian applicants, so a 63% B.Tech fits Galway’s or Maynooth’s 2:2 band only where the course accepts a 2:2.

  • 3-year degrees: Maynooth accepts them at the same marks if the final year had a project, thesis, dissertation or internship shown on your transcripts or course descriptor. Without one, Maynooth’s India entry requirements allow 70% to be considered for certain business courses. UCC’s India entry requirements weigh the standard of the institution that awarded a 3-year degree.
  • NIRF top 100: for NIRF 2025 top-100 graduates, Galway’s India bands are 52% for a 2:2, 62% for a 2:1 and 70% for a first.

English is two separate checks. Immigration Service Delivery’s visa bar is lower than the university’s: IELTS Academic 5.0, TOEFL iBT 61, PTE 30 or Duolingo 75, issued within 2 years of your course start.

GRE, GMAT and work experience generally aren’t needed for a taught MSc in Ireland. MBA and some management courses differ: UCD Smurfit’s full-time MBA wants at least three years of professional experience and a preferred GMAT score of 600 on its Qualifax listing.

Master’s guides for Indian students most often list computer science and data analytics, business analytics and finance, pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology, and engineering. Pick the field before the city, because the subject sets the fee; our Ireland courses guide covers each field.

  • Business analytics: skip DCU’s MSc in Business Analytics, which won’t run in September 2027.
  • Finance: Trinity’s fee list puts its Masters in Finance at EUR 27,300 for 2027/28.

For the Class of 2024, 86.6% of postgraduate taught graduates were in work nine months after graduating, and 62.4% of those who declared a salary earned over EUR 40,000 a year, according to HEA Graduate Outcomes 2024. These are national figures, not India-only. Big employers with Irish operations commonly named include Google, Microsoft, Apple, Meta and Pfizer.

Year-One Budget for a Master’s in Ireland: Tuition, Living Costs and Visa Funds

For a 2027 study visa, an Indian applicant must show immediate access to at least EUR 10,000 (approx. INR 10.62 lakh) for first-year living costs, on top of course fees, under Immigration Service Delivery’s student finances page. On UCD’s 2027/28 EUR 26,710 Business Analytics and AI MSc, that visa minimum is EUR 36,710 (approx. INR 38.98 lakh).

Parents, plan the cost of studying in Ireland around three rules in the Embassy’s study visa leaflet:

  • Fees paid first: pay fees of EUR 6,000 or less in full before you apply; above that, pay at least EUR 6,000, unless the university wants full payment first.
  • Loans: a sanction letter on its own isn’t enough. Send the original loan documents and declare the guarantor as a sponsor.
  • Bank statements: six months for you and for each declared sponsor. Shares, mutual funds, crypto and chit funds don’t count. Gold counts only once sold into a bank account or turned into a gold loan.

As of April 2026, UCD’s Dublin cost of living page put the median at EUR 2,445 a month, of which accommodation is EUR 1,200. Add EUR 300 a year for the Irish Residence Permit (IRP, your student residence card) and up to EUR 690 a year for health insurance. At that median, the visa’s EUR 10,000 lasts about four months. With 12 months at that median (EUR 29,340), a realistic year one on UCD’s 2027/28 Business Analytics and AI MSc is about EUR 57,040.

Cork is cheaper: UCC’s cost of living guide puts a month at about EUR 481 to 701 without accommodation and EUR 1,181 to 2,923 with it. Stamp 2 (your student permission) allows up to 20 hours a week in term and 40 from June to September and 15 December to 15 January. So part-time work in Ireland helps but won’t fund the year.

From our counselling desk: funds are where we see Indian files stall most: a sanction letter sent without the loan papers, or savings held in mutual funds the visa office won't count. Fix both before you start. We check bank statements and loan papers against the visa funds rule before a file goes to New Delhi.

Scholarships for Indian Master’s Students in Ireland for 2027

GOI-IES (the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship) won’t help a 2027 applicant yet: its 2026 call closed on 12 March 2026 and no 2027 call is announced as of 17 October 2026. Budget for the full fee and treat any award in our list of Irish scholarships as a bonus.

When it runs, GOI-IES funds 60 students a year with a EUR 10,000 stipend plus a full fee waiver for one year of full-time Level 9 or 10 study, per HEA’s GOI-IES page. Your permanent home must be outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland and the UK, and you first apply to an eligible course. On Trinity’s 2027/28 EUR 28,760 Computer Science master’s, one award is worth EUR 38,760 for the year.

  • UCD Global Excellence: 100% or 50% tuition for non-EU incoming students; 2027/28 applications open in November 2026. A 50% award on UCD’s 2027/28 EUR 26,710 Business Analytics and AI MSc is worth up to about EUR 13,355.
  • University of Limerick: for 2026/7, EUR 2,000 a year off tuition in the Faculty of Science and Engineering or EUR 2,500 a year at Kemmy Business School, considered automatically when you apply.
  • DCU: successful non-EU offer holders on eligible Engineering and Computing courses get EUR 4,400 off the full-time 2027-2028 fee, so the EUR 25,000 listed on DCU’s 2027-28 fee page would drop to EUR 20,600.

How to Apply for a Master’s in Ireland: 2027 Intakes, Deadlines and Documents

Aim for September 2027: September is generally the main intake for Irish master’s courses, and January starts are limited to selected universities and courses.

  1. Gather documents: TU Dublin asks for your passport, degree certificate, transcripts for each year, grading scale, English score, CV and statement of purpose (SOP). Most universities also want one or two recommendation letters.
  2. Apply early: Trinity opens September 2027 applications in November. DCU’s MSc in Computing closes on 1 July 2027 for non-EU applicants and has taken January-start applications since 5 October 2026, on DCU’s course page.
  3. Secure the place: TU Dublin needs at least 50% of tuition to guarantee your place.
  4. File the visa up to 90 days before travel, using our Ireland student visa checklist. Decisions usually take 4-8 weeks, and files lodged under 3 weeks before the course starts can’t be guaranteed a decision. The study visa fee is INR 5,300 single entry or INR 9,000 multiple entry, plus VFS charges.

For a review of your SOP and funds file, our Ireland counsellors in Hyderabad and Tirupati check both.

After Your Master’s: Stamp 1G, Critical Skills Permit and PR

Finish a Level 9 master’s in 2027 and you can get up to 24 months on Stamp 1G under the Third Level Graduate Programme to land a permit job. The first 12 months are granted when you qualify; the next 12 need proof of appropriate steps to find graduate-level work, such as job interviews or graduate agency sign-ups.

  • Apply on time: within six months of being told you’ve achieved your award, while you hold Stamp 2 and a current IRP card. Registration is EUR 300 per person, and the renewal can’t take your total time in Ireland as a student and graduate past eight years.
  • Work freely: up to 40 hours a week, with no employment permit needed.
  • Land the right job: in 2026, a Critical Skills Employment Permit needs EUR 40,904 for a job on the Critical Skills Occupations List with a relevant degree. It needs EUR 36,848 if you qualified within the 12 months before applying. The offer must run at least 2 years, and you’re expected to stay at least 9 months with that first employer.
  • Move to Stamp 4 (long-term permission to live and work without a permit): you can seek it after 21 months of work on a Critical Skills permit, or 57 months on a General Employment Permit. That is the standard work permit for jobs not on the Critical Skills list.

Aim year one at Critical Skills roles, since the lower graduate salary applies only within 12 months of qualifying; our Stamp 1G and post-study work visa guide covers renewal proof.

Frequently Asked Questions

For masters in Ireland for Indian students, compare courses by name, not country. A Level 9 master’s gives up to 24 months on Stamp 1G, while the UK Graduate visa drops from 2 years to 18 months for applications made on or after 1 January 2027.

Usually not: students may bring family members only in very exceptional circumstances. That changes once you hold a Critical Skills Employment Permit: you can apply for immediate family reunification, and your spouse can then work after getting a Dependant, Partner or Spouse Employment Permit.

Generally not for a taught MSc in computing, data or analytics. MBA and some business courses are the exception: UCD Smurfit’s full-time MBA asks for a GMAT, GMAT Focus, Executive Assessment or GRE score plus at least three years of professional experience.

Not for the visa. The Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi makes an approved English test compulsory for every student visa and refuses files without one. An MOI letter can’t replace it, so book an approved test even if a university waives its own.

There’s a route, not a guarantee. Use Stamp 1G to find a Critical Skills list job paying at least EUR 36,848 (about INR 39.12 lakh) within 12 months of qualifying. After 21 months on that permit (57 on a General Employment Permit), you can seek Stamp 4.
