University of Central Lancashire was founded in the early second quarter of 18 th century. Over the period of time, the university has transformed into a world class, multi-campus institution known for its academic excellence, fostering inclusive environment with a formidable students strength of 42000 which includes overseas students from as many as 100 countries. It stated it’s operations at Preston, Lancashire and later expanded to Burnley, London and Westlakes. In 2012, it became the first university in United Kingdom to open a campus at Cyprus.

Scholarships offered by University of Central Lancashire
Articulation Scholarship – university offers a scholarship assistance to students progressing through its partnered institutions. Scholarship worth £2000 is awarded to students applying for undergraduate and taught postgraduate programs. The amount of scholarship will be adjusted in the tuition fee as mentioned in the offer letter from the university. Students applying for 2025/26 entry are eligible for this scholarship.

Excellence Scholarship – this scholarship is available to students who have excellent academic achievements that satisfies the enhanced academic record criteria as per applied program.£3500 is offered to international students who applies for specific undergraduate and taught postgraduate programs. Scholarship would be awarded to students who satisfy the requirements mentioned in the university’s website. Scholarship is applicable for year entry 2024/25 only.
Franchise Scholarship –university offers a scholarship assistance of £2000 to students enrolling in specific undergraduate and taught postgraduate programs in the entry year 2025/26 only. Eligible students must progress through the partnered institutions or franchise programs to the university. Admission team will intimate the selected student through offer letter, amount of scholarship will be adjusted in the tuition fee. Students must also satisfy the program specific criteria to avail this scholarship.
Family Loyalty Scholarship –this scholarship offered by the university provides assistance to international students whose siblings, spouse or children studied or currently pursuing education at the university. Scholarship worth £1000 per year is awarded to selected students from specific undergraduate and taught postgraduate programs. Amount of scholarship will be deducted from the tuition fee, eligible students must submit proof of the relationship at the time of applying. Scholarships is applicable to entry year 2025/26 only.

Science & Technology Placements –university has made placements an integral part of the curriculum, by providing appropriate placement opportunities it helps in elevating employability of the students. University provides up to 1 year of placement for students,
dividing the schedule equally by 3 months each. MSc program students get an extension of up to 6 months for placements or on-site projects to provide real time exposure.

This studio is at par with commercial print studio offering all relevant support. The studio have specific timings on weekdays and operated by specialized experts. It is located at room no. 28 of Victoria Building.
Student Center –a dedicated space in the central part of Preston campus. It offers a wide
variety of services to students under a single roof. It provides Social Spaces, Meeting Room,
Café for students to have a relaxed time and hang out with friends. The timings of the center is morning 8 am to 9 pm on all weekdays.

Entry Requirements at University of Central Lancashire
For Undergraduate Courses
- Applicants must pass the 12 th standard with at least 60-70%. The percentage differs according to the courses.
- Â For English Language Proficiency, applicants must have a score of at least 6.0 overall and no less than 5.5 in all bands in IELTS. Other tests like TOEFL and PTE are also accepted with specified scores.
For Postgraduate Courses
-  Applicants must have a recognized Indian university bachelor’s degree with least
minimum percentage of 55-60, however, some courses requires higher percentage.. - Â For English Language Proficiency, applicants must have a score of at least 6.5 overall and no less than 6.0 in all bands in IELTS or TOEFL iBT minimum score ranging between 80-90 or PTE academic at least a score between 58-62.
- University has a highly competitive acceptance rate that ranges between 22-30%
