Choose by start month and campus, not by the university’s name. An April start gets you going a month or two earlier, and London has the most options; for cities and costs across the country, see our guide to studying in the UK. Portsmouth runs its summer start only in London, because its main-campus MSc International Business and Management starts in September or January.

  • Longer versions: Roehampton’s Extended Masters adds one or two semesters for GBP 22,980 or GBP 25,980. Chester’s two-year placement version costs GBP 18,400 in total. Greenwich runs a two-year MA International Business with Placement from April.
  • BPP: the May start runs at Waterloo or online. Choose Waterloo, because an online course can’t get you a Student visa.
  • Oxford Brookes: budget for GBP 20,800, the 2027/28 rate, in case your May 2027 start is billed at it.

Three more universities have confirmed a summer 2027 intake without a full course list yet. The University of East London opens its May course list later in 2026. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David starts its London term on 17 May 2027, with applications by 6 April, and Solent University offers January and May 2027 starts. Bachelor’s, Top-Up and Pre-Master’s Starts in the Summer Intake

A BCom or BTech graduate, a diploma holder and a Class 12 student can all start between April and June 2027, but on different routes. Your highest finished qualification decides the route, not the course title you like most. Cumbria’s pre-master’s comes with an integrated visa, meaning one Student visa covers the pre-master’s term and the master’s after it. Roehampton’s April bachelor’s start has no foundation year or pathway, so your Class 12 marks must meet the first-year entry requirements on their own. From our counselling desk: In the summer-intake applications we handle, the offer letter is rarely the problem. What trips families up is timing: the tuition deposit due before the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), and a bank balance that must meet the higher figure from 30 November. Families who move the full amount into one account by January, before the place is confirmed, don't have to redo their bank statements later.

Summer Intake Courses That Will Not Get You a Student Visa

Not every April to June start leads to a Student visa. Some are online, some are short courses, and some are dissertation terms for students who began earlier:

April, May and June 2027 Deadlines, Deposits and CAS Timeline

22 February 2027 is the earliest published summer deadline, set by Buckinghamshire New University for its April start. Cardiff Met and Ulster’s London and Birmingham campuses close on 15 March 2027. Treat the earliest date on your shortlist as your real deadline: the deposit, CAS and visa all follow it.

Aston has not yet set its final April 2027 deadline.

Parents, the visa money rises on 30 November 2026: from then, the visa needs up to GBP 14,130 for living costs in London (GBP 10,827 elsewhere), plus any first-year tuition you haven’t paid yet. The money must sit in the account for 28 days in a row just before you apply: for a visa application on 1 March 2027, keep it there every day from 1 to 28 February.   • The CAS comes only after an unconditional offer, meaning you’ve met every offer condition.
  • Deposits come first at many universities: Teesside wants GBP 4,000 from self-funded students before the CAS (2026-27).
  • The visa fee in India is INR 73,795 (as of 2 October 2026). The Immigration Health Surcharge, a healthcare charge, adds GBP 776 a year.

April vs May vs June Start: End Dates, Graduate Route and Trade-offs

A summer start gives you the same degree as September. You give up a summer break and some course choice, and your end date moves:

  • End date: Teesside’s one-year May 2027 master’s ends on 19 May 2028. Hertfordshire’s May master’s ends on 31 May 2028.
  • No summer off: Oxford Brookes teaches January and May starters from 25 May to 28 August 2027.

A one-year summer master’s runs twelve months straight with no long break, and most universities offer summer starts only on some courses or campuses. Middlesex’s May MBA module is a short course, not a degree, so it cannot support a Student visa.

Sometimes, if your university still accepts applications and you can meet the offer conditions fast. A CAS needs an unconditional offer, and often a paid deposit. Once it arrives you must apply for the visa within 6 months, and you can enter the UK up to 1 month before a course longer than 6 months.

Your Next Step for a Summer 2027 Start

For the summer intake, sort your money early. Shortlist two or three of these May intake universities in UK, apply before the earliest deadline on your list, and set the funds aside at the post-November rate before the university confirms your place.
