Entry Requirements at University of York
All the programs of the University of York have inclusive and accessible entry requirements at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Entry requirements for an undergraduate course
Standard Qualifications:
- International Baccalaureate (IB): At least 34 – 36 points overall with at least 16 points from each of two HOCs and 17 points altogether in English Literature and English Literature and Theory.
- Indian Standard XII: Minimum required score from recognized boards 75%.
Country-Specific Requirements:
- Canada (High School Diploma): For a school outside of Canada it is mandatory to have a score of 75% and for those students who are not educated in Canada they need to have additional qualifications like IELTS.
postgraduates : York University accepts a broad range of qualifications for entry to its master’s and research programmers.
Language Requirements
Undergraduate:
- IELTS Academic: When overall score does not fall below 6.5 and each component does not get higher than 6.0.
- TOEFL iBT: Scored 21 in each component and overall score of 87.
- PTE Academic: At least one component score of 55 or more, for example Mathematics 7; at least one component score of 1 or more, for example English Second Language 2; and a total score of 61.
- Duolingo: At least 105 each and minimum score of 120.
Postgraduate:
- IELTS Academic: With an overall score of 6.5 or higher and 6.0 or higher in all skills except writing.
- TOEFL iBT: A 23 in writing and an 87 overall.
- PTE Academic: Admission must be minimum score of 61 and minimum 55 in all component.
