The Chefs’ House and WAVE Clinics: Students in GBC’s culinary and health programs can get hands-on experience at establishments such as The Chefs’ House restaurant and the WAVE (Wellness, Applied Research and Visionary Education) Clinics, which is available to the public.

Libraries and Study Areas: There is a library with both online and paper book collection and a peaceful reading area in each campus. There also are group study rooms. Students have access to academic databases and assistance with research and writing assignments.

Fitness and Recreation: Others will also have access to gymnasiums, fitness centres and recreational offerings. Provided services are fitness classes and sport that promote physical health.

Student Residences and Food Services: GBC creates a modern living environment in 3, 4, 5 and 6 bed roomed apartments at The George, just a short trip from the Waterfront campus. There are dining rooms, cafeterias, and student-run canteens at each campus.

Student Services Offered by George Brown College

Academic Advising and Learning Support: Students receive one-on-one support from an academic adviser and have access to tutoring, writing centres and study workshops. The services are primarily aimed at helping foreign students enter the Canadian education systems.

Mental Health and Wellness: George Brown offers free counselling, mental health, and wellness workshops. Exercises are designed to make students more resilient to stress and encourage good habits.

Career Services and Job Search Assistance: Students can get help with their resume and interview skills and receive job-search support in the Career Services Centre. Career fairs and employer information sessions are ongoing.

Student Life at George Brown College

Cultural Events and Student Clubs: The college holds multicultural festivals, talent nights, and student club events throughout the year. “Students have over 60 clubs to choose from, including a photography club and entrepreneurship club.

Athletics and Fitness Programs: Sports The GBCs sports teams are called the Huskies. On-campus sports like basketball, volleyball and intramural leagues also offer students the opportunity to play for fun or competitively.

Community Engagement: Students also have the chance to engage with the Toronto community through volunteering programs and civic engagement programs. It also enhances the resume and soft skills.

Orientation and Peer Mentorship: All entering students are urged to take part in the orientation programs offered to new students to become acquainted with campus life. Peer mentors help new students adjust to academic and social processes at GBC. There was no way they could reinvent everything this summer. Events Like the Summer Sounds on the Waterfront GBC is also home to “Summer Sounds on the Waterfront,” a free weekly music, food and culture event held in July. c A connected student body These kinds of events promote a connected and engaged student body.

Separate Campuses

  1. St. James Campus: Conestoga’s School of Business, Hospitality & Culinary Arts also runs this King Street East campus. The neighborhood is replete with restaurants and shops and a quick walk into downtown energy.
  2. Waterfront Campus: This modern campus has health sciences and early childhood education programs, innovative labs, and a Lake Ontario view.
  3. Limberlost Place: The 2025 building is the first mass-timber, low-carbon project the GBC has ever created. It will also house the School of Architectural Studies and serve as a hub for sustainable design education.
  4. Satellite Locations: GBC also has more sites and specialties in continuing education and specialized training. Distributing learning across the GTA The smaller centres help to distribute learning opportunities across the GTA.

Scholarships Offered by George Brown College

International Student Scholarship: scholarships give up to $5,000 a year per person. International student (taking 12+ credit hours per semester) with a minimum 3.0 GPA who participates in their community or shows leadership.

Scotiabank International Student Scholarship: VALUED AT CAD 1,000 – CAD 2,500, the award is provided to students who are pursuing a program in any business field at the undergraduate level. Admission is need- and merit-based, and students are active on campus.

George Brown College Entrance Scholarship: The scholarship is presented to the new international students who apply for a diploma or degree at the college and is in the amount of CAD 1,000.

Woori Education Scholarship: The scholarship has a value of $2,000 and is open to South Korean or other Asian students who have achieved high academic performance and with community dedication.

Alumni Legacy Scholarship: It is for family members of George Brown graduates, and the award is worth CAD 1,500. Applicants must be enrolled full time in school and have good academic standing.

Entry Requirements at George Brown College
