Scholarships offered by the James Cook University

JCU Dean’s Scholarship

International students who are committed to start undergraduate programs at the university in Study Period one 2024 are eligible for $20,000 for 04 years maximum scholarship assistance ($5000 per year). Students who has outstanding academic achievements at year 12 or students with gap year are eligible. University will assess the eligibility via QTAC, no separate application is required

JCU Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship

International students who are committed to start undergraduate programs at the university in Study Period one 2024 are eligible for $40,000 for 04 years maximum scholarship assistance ($10,000 per year). Students who has outstanding academic achievements at year 12 or students with gap year are eligible. University will assess the eligibility via QTAC, no separate application is required

AIMS@JCU Indigenous Undergraduate Scholarship

University offers scholarship assistance to indigenous undergraduate students, the amount of scholarship depends on student’s need and program. Indigenous students pursuing undergraduate course in marine science are eligible, the scholarship for first year can also be renewed upon the performance of the student. The application can be facilitated through university’s indigenous students services office.

Amuthan Memorial Indigenous Scholarship

A scholarship assistance worth $5000 annually is offered to full-time undergraduate indigenous students, the scholarship is available throughout the course study, the applications for this scholarship starts from October 1st 2024 and ends on January 10th 2025

Arrow Energy – JCU Go Further Indigenous Tertiary Scholarship

The aboriginal and strait island students are offered scholarship assistance of $5000 and $10000 per year to part-time and full-time students respectively. The eligibility is for all above mentioned students irrespective of programs they pursue at the university, the scholarship for first year can be extended based upon the performance, the applications for this scholarship starts from October 1st 2024 and ends on January 10th 2025

Australian Institute of Marine Sciences (AIMS) Scholarships

Domestic and international students applying for postgraduate research programs such as PhD and MPhil at the university are eligible for $33,500 per annum scholarship assistance for specified duration of 3.5 years of PhD and 2 years of MPhil. The scholarship is currently open for eligible students to apply

Australian Banana Grower’s Council Mort Johnston Scholarship

This scholarship is exclusively offered to undergraduate and honors student who have a link with local banana industry, it is named after Mort Johnston a pioneer of banana industry of Australia.
