  1. The SiA (Student Association in Agder) provides budget-friendly accommodation to students at both the campuses. It also manage cafeterias, bookstores and fitness centers for students. Counseling for general health and mental health is also offered to the students at the campuses.
  2. UiA provides comprehensive sports and fitness facilities at both the campuses. The Grimstad & Kristiansand sports clubs facilitates advanced equipment and infrastructure for volleyball, football, handball and martial arts. Center for Gender & Equality Master’s Scholarships

  2. Students can choose topics such as, ethnicity, human rights, diversity, disability, AI & Digitization. The research should focus of university’s areas, though not a strict compulsion.

  4. The recipient students receive 15,000 Norwegian Krone equivalent to $1300, there are maximum 07 scholarships.

  2. The funding options are – R&D Systems Scholarship – recipient students get varied financial help with no specified deadlines.
  3. Education Future International Scholarship – it offers financial assistance up to $10,000 to eligible students.

Internships & Placements at The University of Agder

Engineering & Science Internships

  1. This internships are awarded to undergraduate students at the university in the field of engineering and science. The students must ensure completion of least 90 ECTS credits.
  2. The eligible disciplines are – Multimedia Technology & Design, Industrial Mathematics, Biology, Computer Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics and Renewable Energy.
  3. Interning students are assessed through portfolio, CV, Logs and video presentation. It requires at least 300 hours of working at professional site. It is based on pass or fail grading system.
  4. For applications, students must seek an opportunity on their own or apply for available opportunities. The Internships are awarded on the basis of CV and interview by the concerned company.

Internships at Global Lounge (International Office)

  1. This internship opportunity is available to EU/EEA students only, who are eligible for ERASMUS+ traineeship grants. The interns works at both the campuses in collaboration with International Office.
  2. The work includes – management of Social Media handles of the university, including Newsletter. Assisting arriving and departing exchange program students. Supporting the ERASMUS Student Network and conducting tours, events and social activities.
  3. The maximum duration for this internship is one or two semesters. The privileges and perks of this internship are – participation in students trips and events.
  4. Access to free Norwegian language courses and assured concessional accommodation. To apply, students must approach the concerned officer at the Global Lounge.

Industry Collaborations & Research-Based Internships : Students at the university can engage or participate in research-based internships in the disciplines of engineering, health sciences and artificial intelligence. UiA has partnered with local industries and Technology Park to facilitate internships for hands-on experience. Eligible students can seek funding via Project Development Support (PUS) and other available grants.

Entry Requirements at The University of Agder

For Undergraduate Entry: Applicants must have secondary school qualification at par with Norwegian standards. They must also satisfy the Higher Education Entrance Qualification as per GSU list.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

  1. Applicants seeking admission into programs taught in English language must demonstrate language proficiency via following tests – TOEFL iBT – Minimum overall score of 80 or IELTS – an overall score of at least 6.0 or PTE Academic – minimum score of 51.
  2. However, applicants from certain English speaking countries and studied previous education entirely in English medium may get exemption from aforementioned tests requirements.

Application Deadlines: All EU/EEA applicants must check the university’s website for accurate deadlines. As far as Non-EU/EEA applicants are concerned, November 1st – December 1st is the application period.

For Postgraduate Entry: Typically, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 180 ECTS credits from any recognized university. Additional academic requirements may apply as per chosen program. Moreover, applicants must score minimum C grade or higher according to Norwegian grading scale.

Some applicants may be asked to provide course description for thorough evaluation. All academic transcripts and documents must be translated into English, Norwegian, Danish or Swedish language, if they are in some other language.
  2. For all Non-EU/EEA applicants, the official deadlines is November 1st to December 1st. For music performing programs, December 15th is the deadline.

For Doctoral Programs Entry: Applicants must furnish a postgraduate degree in relevant field, a research proposal aligning with university’s research areas is also mandatory. The admission is highly competitive, therefore applicants must secure external funding or opt for university’s research grants.

Financial Requirements for non-EU/EEA Applicants

  1. All non-EU/EEA applicants must pay a prescribed tuition fee every year. Applicants must check the official website of the university for exact fee details.
  2. All applicants must demonstrate evidence of financial sources to sustain in Norway, hence 151,690 Norwegian krone per year is required. For financial proof, applicants must submit personal bank statement of last 03 months minimum or sponsor’s bank statement or confirmation letter. Once successfully admitted, applicants must transfer the amount into university’s deposit account to obtain a study permit.

Process of Application

  1. International applicants must first check the availability of programs. The documents needed for application are – academic transcripts, language proficiency test certificates, proof of financial sources, passport copy and additional requirements as per origin of applicant’s country.
  2. Application alongside required documents must be uploaded on university’s admission portal only.
  3. Applicants will be intimidated by month of April every year, successfully admitted applicants must confirm their admission within 05 days of intimidation. Non-EU/EEA applicants must apply for study permit before landing in Norway.
