Entry Requirements at Birmingham City University
For Undergraduate Courses
- Â Applicants need to pass the 12th standard from any recognized board with least minimum percentage of 60-65 in relevant subjects. Courses like Engineering, Health and Sciences requires additional percentage.
- For English Language Proficiency, applicants must score at least 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in every component in IELTS or TOEFL iBT requirements are minimum overall score of 80 with minimum 17 in writing, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 17 in listening or minimum score of 59 with no section less than 54 in PTE academic. University also accepts other tests subject to satisfaction of scores.
- In addition to all these requirements, some courses like arts &Â design need a portfolio, courses like health & creative industries requires an interview.
For Postgraduate Courses
- Applicants in order to take entry in postgraduate programs must have a bachelor’s
degree from a recognized Indian university with 55-60%. Engineering, Business and Law courses requires higher percentage. - For English Language Proficiency, applicants must have a score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in every component in IELTS or TOEFL iBT requirements are minimum overall score of 88 with minimum 17 in writing, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 17 in listening or minimum score of 63 with no section less than 59 in PTE academic. Few courses may demand additional scores.
- Some programs especially in creative field require portfolio and relevant work
experience. Few courses also ask for statement of purpose, academic reference and an interview.
The acceptance rate of the university is very high around 70-80%
