Bursary and Scholarship

Careers Bursary

  1. Eligibility: They are students in local authority care who also care for a parent, or close relative.
  2. Amount: To be paid in £1,200 a year in installments.

Estranged Bursary Students

  1. Eligibility: Student in finance.
  2. Amount: The £1,500 a year comes in installments.

Local Student Bursary Scheme

  1. Eligibility: A course that they have to pursue full time as an undergraduate.
  2. Amount: £1,000 for one academic year.

Social Work Bursary

  1. Eligibility: Today social work degree students doing 200 days placements.
  2. Amount: £1,000 for one academic year.

Applied AI and Data scholarships

The Asian Scholarship

Internships and Placements at Solent University

All students at Solent University have internship and placement opportunities that are very useful for making students more employable.

Types of Placements: Short or Vacation Placements:

Entry Requirements for Solent University

English Language Proficiency:

  1. IELTS: Overall minimum score of 5.5 for Foundation entry with no component in the ILTS less than 5.0.
  2. An average undergraduate degree program requires that; a candidate must score an overall IELTS score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in components.

Specialized Requirements:

  1. As part of their application, most art and design courses ask for a portfolio to be submitted.
  2. Application Process: UK-based applicants: Apply via UCAS.
  3. International applicants: Some apply through UCAS and some use Solent’s direct application portal.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor Master level A recognized bachelor’s degree equivalent to the British bachelor’s degree with a minimum classification.

English Language Proficiency:

IELTS: For most postgraduate courses we normally require a 6.5 in an overall score with a minimum of 6.0 in no one of the four individual components.

Application Process: Solent has developed an online portal where you can make applications directly. Required documents include:

Secure English Language Tests (SELT):

  1. Applicants to courses at below degree level must meet this requirement.
  2. Exemptions: English language tests will not be required to you if your language of your previous education was English or you are an English-speaking candidate.
