Placements & Internships Offered by University of Strathclyde

Entry Requirements at University of Strathclyde
Entry requirements for diverse academic backgrounds are tailored for undergraduate and Postgraduate programmed offered by the University of Strathclyde.
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Academic Qualifications: Applicants are expected to have attained 70 75% in all subjects at Level XII and Level X with particularly good marks in the proposed field of study.
- International Baccalaureate (IB): Some programmed have access to Advanced entry to Year 2 subject to specific course requirements.
- A Levels: Selective programmed also offer advanced entry into Year 2, with course specific requirements.
English Language RequirementsÂ
- IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band below 5.5.
- TOEFL IBT or Duolingo English Test may be accepted as alternative test. Check the page for the specific course you’re looking at for the latest information.
- Clearly articulated pathways to university exist through articulation agreements with partner colleges.
Entry requirements for Postgraduates
Academic Qualifications
- You will need a first-class undergraduate degree (approx. 60%) from a recognized university.
- Marks above 55% (55% and above) are accepted for institutions like University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta and University of Delhi.
- Marks at or around 55% for the IITs and IIMs graduate, are generally considered.
- The typical applicant for research degree programmed are those who have a Master’s degree and research experience.
English Language Requirements
- IELTS: Some programmed require a minimum overall score of 6.5 and no band less than 6.0.
- Students needing additional language preparation can study on our pre sessional English courses.
Pre-Masters Programmed: This course is open to students who do not meet direct entry requirements for postgraduate study and is offered through the University’s International Study Centre.
Recognized Tests
- IELTS: An aggregate of 6.5 in the written test, with no writing band under 5.5.
- Duolingo English Test: With particular requirements, China is accepted for applicants.
Special Measures
Due to Continued Access of English Tests, you may also take Alternative Tests, such as IELTS Indicator and Pearson Test of English (PTE) in some intakes.
Pre-Sessional English Courses : International students can increase their language skills before their chosen degree by taking a range of pre-sessional courses.
Alternative Pathways
- Widening Access: The university accepts applications from care experienced students and those that are returning to education via college pathways.
Articulation Agreements
- Agreements are in place to ensure that HNC and HND qualifications can feed into the degree curriculum to allow access.
