It dates back to 1901 and is based in an estate on the outskirts of Edmond, near Newport, Shropshire, England. Harper Adams has a historical link to agricultural education and research, and gained university status by special order of the Privy Council on 26 November. Following the granting of full university college status in August the university implemented a number of academic changes, and changed its name to Harper Adams University College.

Academic Requirements
- Undergraduate program: The majority of undergraduate titles will ask for prior learning at A Level or International Baccalaureate (IB) level.
- Postgraduate courses: Generally in order to be considered for postgraduate courses students should have already studied, at a recognized Institute, education equivalent to a UK honors degree.

- IELTS -The general requirement is a minimum overall band score of 6.0, with no band less than 5.5 reading, writing (IELTS 6.0, 5.5 average) must be technologically submitted.
