Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarships: This scholarship is exclusively applicable to Indian students aspiring for postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral courses in the countries like USA, UK and Europe. Eligible students receive full funding such as, tuition fee waiver, travel and living allowances and health insurance. Applicants must apply before March 31st 2025 with required documents.

K.C Mahindra Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies Abroad: This scholarship is available to students from Indian origin pursuing a postgraduate degree at renowned European universities including UiT. The scholarship awards partial funding, however the amount of scholarship is up to ₹10,00,000 to recipient students. Interested students can apply before the deadline (March 31st 2025).

Narotam Sekhsaria  PG Scholarship: Another scholarship available to Indian students who are pursuing postgraduate or PhD programs at elite international universities including UiT. This scholarship offers partial funding, including interest free loans to eligible students.

The Leaky Foundation Research Grants: This scholarship is available to all students pursuing doctoral and post-doctoral courses in the disciplines of, biological anthropology, archeology, paleontology, genetics and similar field at UiT. It offers partial funding, the amount of the scholarship is maximum $30,000 to the recipient students. Interested students can apply before the due date (15th of July 2025).

Education Future International Scholarship: Scholarship is exclusively offered to Indian students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programs in any discipline at UiT. It offers partial funding with amount ranging between ₹2,00,000 – ₹10,00,000 to the recipient students. March 31st 2025 is the deadline for this scholarship. It is applicable to Indian students studying in any international university other than an India university.

UiT Partner Institution Scholarships: Students at the university enrolling for project partner institution of UiT, who participates in research collaborations, winter or summer schools and exchange programs are eligible for these scholarships. It may offer both full or partial funding, generally covering tuition fee, research grants and exchange program support. The deadlines differs as per the scholarship.

ERASMUS MUNDUS Joint Master’s Degree Scholarships: It is offered to students from EU countries such as, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Siberia and Turkey pursuing postgraduate and doctoral programs in various disciplines at UiT and other approved ERASMUS+ institutions across Europe. It offers full funding, that includes, tuition fee waiver, travel expenditures and a monthly stipend to recipient students.

  3. The Geo Intern International Project of UiT is launched to provide real-world work experience to students pursuing Geoscience discipline. The internships are facilitated at leading partnered universities and organizations in countries such as, India, Brazil, South Africa, Canada, United States of America, China, Japan and China.
  4. The Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan – internships are provided to study and gain deep insights of geochemical analysis in Rhenium – Osmium Isotopes and Platinum Group Elements. The internship is fully funded, which includes accommodation, travel and a stipend. The maximum duration of this internship is 08 weeks.

Entry Requirements at UiT The Arctic University of Norway

For Undergraduate Entry: Applicants must satisfy academic requirements based on Higher Education Entrance Qualification GSU list. Completion of higher secondary school qualification as per Norwegian standards. Satisfy the prescribed language proficiency requirements and applicants from specified countries may require additional requisites such as one extra year of study

For Postgraduate Entry: Applicants must furnish a bachelor’s degree from recognized university with minimum C grade as per ECTS grading system. Prescribed language proficiency and some programs may demand statement of purpose, research proposal or additional qualifications

English Language Proficiency Requirements

  • International students must demonstrate prescribed English language proficiency via following tests – TOEFL iBT – overall score of 85 with at least 20 in each section or IELTS Academic – minimum 6.5 overall score with at least 6.0 in each section or Cambridge English – C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency, minimum grade C or PTE Academic – minimum score of 62
  • Applicants who comes from English speaking countries or have completed undergraduate degree in English medium are exempted from the aforementioned tests requirements

Documents Needed for Admission: Applicants are advised to upload all required documents in PDF format at the application portal before the deadline. Incomplete or vague applications are not entertained by the university. The required documents are – transcripts & diploma translated in English or Norwegian language, Passport copy, language proficiency test certificate, proof of finances for Non-EU/EEA applicants and statement of purpose and research proposal for postgraduate and doctoral programs

Evidence of Financial Sources for Non-EU/ EEA Applicants: All Non-EU/EEA applicants must show evidence of sufficient financial source like, 137,907 Norwegian Krone equivalent to $12,000. Amount need to be transferred in Student Deposit Account before applying for visa. However, applicants from Norway, EU, EEA, Iceland and Switzerland are exempted from this requirement

Process of Application: Applicants are advised to apply via admission portal, uploading all documents before the deadline. They need to track the application via Søknadsweb portal. Once approved, applicants must transfer prescribed financial amount for applying to student visa
