Program-Specified Requirements
- Applicants seeking admission in Master’s in Religion in Contemporary Society program must have a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields of religious study, social sciences, humanities or related subjects. They must also satisfy the language proficiency requirements and credits requirements.
- For Master’s in Theology program, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in either religious study or theology or a degree equivalent 180 ECTS credits. Additionally, at least 80 ECTS credits must be in Christian Theology and grade C as per Norwegian scale.
- For Master’s in Religion program, a bachelor’s degree in relevant subject with exceptional academic record. Appropriate knowledge in subjects of religious study, theology or social sciences is preferred.
English Language Proficiency Requirements: Apart from satisfying academic requirements, applicants must demonstrate prescribed English language proficiency via following tests. IELTS – overall score of 6.0 with at least 6.5 in writing or TOEFL iBT – score of 80 with minimum 24 in writing or PTE Academic – overall score of 59 with 58 in writing.
Documents Required: Applicants must submit the following documents for smooth admission process. High school diploma and transcripts as per GSU list. Bachelor’s degree with all academic transcripts. Evidence of English language proficiency and duly translated transcripts, if they are in another language.
Application Process & Official Deadlines: Applicants must produce original or certified copies of documents for verification. The rankings of applicants shall be based on academic performance, MF send an official letter of admission to applicants who have been admitted at the school. The application deadline is generally in early spring every year.
Visa & Permit Requirements for International Students: International applicants must adhere to immigration guidelines of Norway. All EU/EEA applicants must register for residence permit after arrival. While Non-EU/EEA applicants must procure a student visa and study permit before landing in Norway.
