Visa Types:
Obtaining a study permit is mandatory to study in Canada. There are two streams under which you can apply for a study permit depending upon your eligibility criteria.
Student Direct Stream (SDS):
- To be eligible to apply for a Study permit under the SDS stream, you need to be living in the following countries.

- Must possess a Letter of Acceptance from a Designated Learning Institutions (DLI)
- Must have paid one-year tuition fee in Full
- Need to possess a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) for 20000 CAD towards your living expenses for one year. 2000 CAD will be deposited in a student account once you open a bank account in Canada. The rest of the funds you will get back in 1 year in 8 equal installments.
Students who do not meet the above criteria have to apply under the non-SDS stream.
