Entry Requirements at Queen Margaret University

As part of the subject requirements for admission to undergraduate studies.

Academic Qualifications:

  1. Indian students applying for undergraduate programs at QMU must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate from a recognized board, with at least 75 %.
  2. Alternatively, we take the GCE A Levels, or the International Baccalaureate or American High School Diploma with SATs/APs.
  3. The Diploma taught in English by International Baccalaureate: a minimum grade of 6.0.
  4. English 6.0 (Spanish 5.0) European Baccalaureate.

Advanced Entry: You may be admitted in Years 2 or 3 if you have taken Advanced Higher, A Levels or similar diplomas (HNC or HND) and meet the required standard, depending on the course for which direct entry course entry requirements apply.

Portfolio or Interviews: Some courses – especially for creative arts programs – will require a portfolio for an interview.

Entry requirements to postgraduate studies

Academic Qualifications: For this you need to have a good Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant field.

Professional Experience: While some programs do, however, they consider exceptional applicants without any Bachelor’s degree but with substantial professional experience.

Language Requirements:

  1. a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, with no one score of less than 6.0.

  3. If your English skills need some development, there are pre sessional English courses.

Visa Requirements: As QMU is a licensed student sponsor, QMU can help international students in getting their CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) for UKVI requirements. A CAS is issued only after an applicant makes the required deposit as proof of sponsorship.

Pathway Programs: Foundation level courses are offered to students who do not meet direct entry requirements.
