Scholarships mostly cover living costs, not tuition. In 2026, the Charpak Master's Scholarship pays an EUR 860/month (INR 93,876) living allowance, according to Buddy4Study's programme listing. It also adds a visa and Etudes en France fee waiver, social security, and CROUS (state student-services agency) housing priority. That allowance offsets most of a regional city's monthly budget.
The bigger award is the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship. From January 2026 it pays EUR 1,200/month (INR 1,30,990) to master’s students (Campus France / MEAE). Two rules catch applicants out. The correct entry route then depends on your study level.

What sank files was how the money was accumulated and whether parental income backed it, not the amount alone. Prepare your bank trail early, not the week before submission, and keep the source of every deposit documented.
Can international students work in France during and after study?
Yes, within limits. As of 2026, international students may work up to 964 hours per year, about 60% of full-time or roughly 20 hours a week, according to Campus France (Campus France). Part-time earnings help with living costs but do not replace the funds you must show for your visa.
Treat term-time hours as secondary income, not your funding plan. The 964-hour cap covers a campus job or part-time shifts.
