Entry Requirements for Linnaeus University

Bachelor (Undergraduate Level)

  1. You need to have completed upper secondary school or equivalent.
  2. You must meet the general entrance requirements for higher education in Sweden.
  3. Proficiency in Swedish or English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6 is required.
  4. All international qualifications must be translated by an approved translator and certified.
  5. At the time of application a copy of a valid passport and all academic transcripts are required.

Postgraduate (Master’s Level)

  1. A Bachelor’s degree worth180 ECTS is required.
  2. A component of the degree should be an independent project (minimum of 15 ECTS).
  3. Proof of English proficiency is compulsory ( IELTS, 6.5 or TOFEL, 90).
  4. In addition to the general requirements, certain programs have subject-specific prerequisites.
  5. It is required that you have studied in a subject related to the program you are applying for.

English Language Requirements

  1. General entry requirements, including English 6 from Swedish upper secondary school or equivalent.
  2. We accept the IELTS (6.5) TOEFL iBT (90) or PTE Academic (62) test.
  3. Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and Proficiency (CPE) are also accepted.

Application Procedure

  1. Students select a maximum of 8 bachelor’s or 4 master’s programs, ranked in order of preference.
  2. The papers required are transcripts, diplomas, a language test score, and a copy of your passport.
  3. Such programs may require a Statement of Purpose or Letter of Motivation.
  4. Deadlines are usually mid-January for fall intake and mid-August for spring intake.

Additional Notes

  1. Should have achieved minimum of 2.8 GPA(4.0 basis) which is advisable for competitive programs.
  2. “Conditionally admitted” students must first pay tuition to finalize enrollment.
  3. Those applying through a process which exceeds 12 months are able to apply for a Swedish personal identity number.
  4. General health insurance covers all registered students.
  5. International students can works while studying and apply to remain for 6 months after graduation to seek employment.
