Institute of Art Design and Technology (IADT) is the only institute in Ireland which emphasizes on creative education and technology. It gives the students liberty to explore creativity, ideas, and innovation. The institute was established in 1997 at Woodpark Town, Dublin. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, part time,springboard+ programs in Arts, Humanities, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Psychology, Design, Visual Arts, Film and Media. The institute is home to an abundant student body including 2500 international students from 55 countries.

The faculty of the institute have experience of the relevant field with requisite qualification. Teaching methodology is unique with focus on development of student’s creativity and technological skills. Institute is duly accredited with Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). Notable alumni of the institute are: Barry Dignam, Robbie Ryan, Aisling Walsh, Kirsten Sheridan, Loiuse Bagnall and many acclaimed people.

SUSI Grant – This is one of the main sources of financial aid to students from the Irish State, scholarship is available to higher education undergraduate courses. The entire grant is done by Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI). Students need to check for eligibility criteria.

Placement offered by the Institute of Art Design and Technology

Placement Offer – Almost all of the programs offer placement at the institute, the placement season starts in early January and lasts till April last week. Students need to commit 30 hours every week for placement, institute offers free lunch, travel expenses and pay stipend to students who are assigned to work in remote places.

Job Listings – Institute advertises job competition in the leading national newspapers, post on their website and circulate posting to agencies. It also maintains a record of random CVs and impartial selection is done for an interview call. Institute provides all possible help to the students for a better employment prospect.

Resources – Institute is equipped with a student hub, students can take an appointment for personal discussion related to CVs, Interview techniques, optimum utilization of social media, preparing LinkedIn profile etc. international office also assists in providing information regarding global opportunities.

Placement Process – The process of placement is simple and transparent, students need to apply for a position by mailing CV with cover letter to the recruiter, the interested organizations invite the selected students for placement. Internet bills and other miscellaneous expenses are paid by the institute including stipends to some students.

Health Care Services – A dedicated medical team consisting of medical and nurses are available to registered students. Students suffering from any medical condition can contact the concerned department for a swift response. The health center at the campus has specific working hours on weekdays.

Library – A well maintained library is available for students for academic purposes. Students can lend books and study material by showing ID cards, they can even search online resources like eBooks and DVDs through online access. Students have option to book a library class with a prior request.

Disability Support – It aims to give support to disabled students without any discrimination for equal participation. Students with different forms of disabilities get equal access to education. A special disability officer is assigned to look after the difficulties faced by disabled students

Counseling – counseling is provided through prior appointment only, students facing mental issues like anxiety, depression, OCD, panic attacks, sexual identity, low self esteem etc. can seek counseling by expert counselors. Certain virtual tools are also provided on the page of counseling for students to manage their mental health issues.

Earn while you Learn – International students are permitted for casual employment, during semester term, 20 hours per week is allowed, while in vacations up to 40 hours per week is allowed. All international students should have Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) for getting paid for employment

Student Life at the Institute of Art Design and Technology

Technology Services – Students get free access to Wifi, Computers, Printing, unique email ID etc. students can use the computers in the labs for academic purposes or for project related works. All systems are wirelessly connected for smooth printing and mailing options.

Accommodation – StudentPad – a specified portal is allocated for students to seek appropriate accommodation. Landlords, Student halls and agents can advertise their accommodation facilities on the portal, students can visit the site to search for ideal accommodation. The institute do not provide accommodation on the campus.

Film EU – An initiative by the institute to promote innovation and research in the field of film and media arts. It collaborates with eight finest schools of Europe for pioneering the authority of the region in creative fields. This initiative is first of its kind in the entire world.

Visa Assistance – Institute provides all possible assistance to international students once they arrive in Ireland, all official letters pertaining to visa immigration, opening of bank account, accommodation etc. can be ordered from the administration staff. All the official forms are stamped at the institute.

Entry Requirements for the Institute of Art Design and Technology

For Design programs

  •  Applicants must have a portfolio to demonstrate their creativity.

For English Proficiency

  • Applicants from non-English speaking countries should have acceptable scores in following tests.
  • IELTS – A score of 6.5 or higher with no less sub score of 6.0 in all components.
  • TOEFL – score of 215 in computer based test or score of 90 in internet based test.
  • UCLES – A grade C or higher is mandatory in proficiency and grade A or higher in advanced English.
  • DUOLINGO – Overall score of 120 or higher with no less score of 110 in any components.
  • Language CERT ESOL – Minimum score of B2 in communicator High Pass, score not less than 33 in any skill.
  • Medical insurance is mandatory for students with validity of minimum 12 months.
  • The Institute of Art Design and Technology have a healthy acceptance rate.
