Camosun College Founded in 1971, Camosun is a publicly funded college in Canada. The college’s two campuses (Lansdowne and Interurban) in the West Shore ensure that the college is within reach of a variety of students, with over 160 programs (as of 2010), which provide courses to roughly 19,000 students a year, of whom approximately 1,100 (2008) are international students. The college has a reputation for the generous amount of personal attention it provides to each student due to its small classes and practical/ (applied) hands-on program delivery. The College is consistently rated near the top of the list of British Columbia’s post-secondary educators in terms of quality of education and is one that many students choose when looking to enrol in an inclusive, supportive, and community-oriented post-secondary institution.

Scholarships offered by Camosun College
International Student Entrance Award: Eligible scholars: Enrolled students who have already returned to China or abroad will not be covered by this scholarship. The prize is worth $1000. Students would need to have attained a good academic performance in their previous studies to be eligible and meet admission requirements.
Camosun International Student Scholarship: This scholarship is for CAD 2,000 and awarded based on academic performance and leadership potential. The interested students should have completed at least one semester and obtained a 3.0 GPA.

Indigenous Student Award: This $1,500 is open to Indigenous students in a full-time program of study. Applicants self-identify as Indigenous and provide their own short personal statement for publication in the Bulletin.
Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence: $1000 Valued – Given to two students for the highest academic achievement within a school or faculty. Minimum GPA required is 3.5.
Financial Need Bursary: Bursary CAD 1,200 Awarded to students in need with an approximate value of $1,200. Candidates should make full-time studies and submit an income and expense statement.

Entry Requirements at Camosun College
Undergraduate Programs: International student should have completed 12th standard or equivalent. You may also learn different subjects depending on the program. For example, an engineering degree might require that you learn some math and physics.

Focus on Meeting Requirements: Admissions requirements are usually the equivalent of high school graduate or after (commonly referred to in Canada as secondary), for diplomas and certificates. Applicants from outside Canada will also need to demonstrate that they speak English, usually by taking an IELTS or TOEFL test of studies.
International Student Considerations: International Students Applying with their academic transcript in a language other than English may be required to submit both a translated copy of their academic transcript as well as an IQAS assessment if the country they completed their schooling in is not Canada. This system is intended to be an objective and impartial rating of foreign credentials.
