Acceptance rate: Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) Admission 2023 TUHH appeals to students from all over the world every year with its focus on technical fields, especially engineering, technology and interdisciplinary research. Here’s how its admissions rates break down:

  • Overall Acceptance Rate: TUHH is an extremely competitive university with an approximated acceptance rate of only 10%. TUHH has a strict selection and the very low admission rate indicates the high qualification and motivation of these students.
  • International Applicants: The acceptance rate for international applicants is even lower at 10%. This does not apply to EU nationals or applicants holding German qualifications or comparable prospective students. International prospective students are also required to display outstanding previous academic performance and provide evidence of language proficiency (German or English), as far as applicable.
  • Factors Affecting Acceptance: Academic Performance (especially in subjects relevant to engineering): TUHH gives preference to applicants with a strong academic performance. Special requirements for certain programs: For some specific programs, such as Information and Communication Systems, background is needed, whether in the form of a relevant degree or specific work background. Few Seats (For the TuHH, Obligatory reason): The TUHH has its very few acceptance rate due to few number of students (8,000 students so far) You have access to the broader corpus only until October 2023
  • TUHH comparative information is the acceptance rate: only 10% which is nowhere close to the general admission rate for German universities which we would see between 20–40%.
  • For reference: University of Hamburg (Click on Sept2023)– Acceptance rate 18–24% Thus, the selectivity of TUHH can likely be classified as the same category since the acceptance of other German technical universities, including the likes of Technical University of Munich (TUM) is approximate ~8–10%.
  • Implications for Applicants: Application Processes — Part II Admissions to the MBS Program Preparation: Due to the low acceptance rate, applicants are encouraged to apply critically — to the application process  ensuring that they meet all academic and language requirements.
