- The Ullandhaug campus is home to The Student House (Studentenes Hus). This space serves as students focal point for student organizations, Chaplain and a student-led pub called ‘Tappetårnet’.

ERASMUS+ Grants: Students from partnered universities from different parts of Europe coming to the university for exchange program are eligible for receiving grants to support living and traveling expenses. These students must submit the proof of grants along with study permit application.
NORSTIP Scholarship
- This scholarship is available to students who are enrolling at the university for postgraduate programs. International students from non-EU/EEA countries such as, Sri Lanka, Malawi, Columbia, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Palestine, Somalia and Vietnam are eligible for this scholarship.
- To be eligible, students must be in the age bracket of 20 to 30 years, demonstrate excellent academic record and should not hold any prior postgraduate degree. It offers tuition fee waivers and monthly stipend to recipient students, similar to Norwegian students receiving assistance under Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund.
Process for Applying to NORSTIP Scholarship: Interested students must apply at Søknadsweb portal before the due date, nomination letter and nomination code from home university must be disclosed at the university. This scholarship provides funds only after landing at Stavanger, initial funding such as flights, hotels, visa and insurance must be covered by the students only.
External Scholarships: International students should seek financial assistance from external funding sources and private sponsors, as the university do not provide full scholarships to overseas students.
Internships & Placements at The University of Stavanger
Social Sciences & Sustainable Study Work Placement (MENPRA): Students pursuing programs in sustainable studies and Social Sciences such as, Sustainable Study, Digital Society and Change Management postgraduate program get interned at an approved organizations. The internship schedule is approximately 02 months. Students get hands-on experience in change management projects and organizational development. It also requires two written drafts and an oral presentation at the conference of work placement ‘Lyspunkt’.

Internship for Master’s of Science in Business Administration: This internship is meant for postgraduate in business administration students. After completion of first year, students undertake 13 weeks internship at private or public organizations. They need to commit at least 150 hours of real-time work at workplaces to gain hands-on experience. Students must secure the internship on their own, though assistance is offered via business school and other portals. A 3000 words internship experience report is mandatory for completion of internship.

- The university has acceptance rate of 25-31% only. The acceptance rate is considered as moderately selective, as admissions are facilitated based on academic excellence, language proficiency and additional program-specific requirements. An abundant number of overseas applicants seek admission in petroleum studies, engineering and business postgraduate programs.
- The major factors that influence the entry at the university are – minimum grade requirements for most programs. The NORSTIP Scholarship programs generally have few seats, making it extremely competitive. Competitive language proficiency tests scores are a decisive factor for admissions.
- In comparison to other major science, technology and business studies universities of Norway, the acceptance rate of UiS stands slightly better and have unrestricted admission policy. The other universities of the region such as NTNU and Nord University have mere 20-25% acceptance rate only.
