Research-Oriented Internships: TU Dresden encourages many scientific research internships of students in science and engineering. In fact, some like the Centre for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) also provide opportunities for optional social activities like the ‘Social Year in Science’ in association with the German Red Cross Saxony.

Pupil and Volunteer Internships: Some of these sites include various departments in the university where high school and or middle school students can do internships. These are intended for students who might have one of the following interests in the technical or administrative areas or as a potential research assistant.

Application Process for Internships

For Degree Internships:

1. For specific guidelines for a given program, the students are required to contact the Internship Office or the respective faculty chairs including the Chair of Business Education and Management Training.
2. These internships have usually guidelines set by specific faculty-level, so that the internships are aligned to curriculum as much as possible.

For General or Voluntary Internships

1. It is important that the applications be submitted to the relevant organizational unit to conduct the training.
2. It would be effective also to enclose a CV, photocopy of the most recent report card, and information on duration of the intended internship and the specific area of interest.
3. Because appointments are scarce, applications should be processed as soon as they become available.

Additional Support: The Internship Office supports students with the process of finding and obtaining internships matching their course and career interests. They provide:

1. Internship guidelines for recognition.
2. Support in understanding program-specific requirements.
3. Help in translating what learners acquire at TU Dresden to practice environments.

1. The city of Dresden has been named as the mecca of student organizations with 13 registered student organizations across the various institutional halls.
2. These activities include, cultural events, art collections and performances, all of which can improve the student’s experience.
