Admission Rate: The 67%is evidence of Centennial’s easy-going policy regarding admissions. It is trying to be inclusive and accessible especially to international students and yet academic. The bar may not be set so high that all will be accepted, but it is a standard not all will meet, particularly in competitive programs with limited number of open spots or more rigorous academic prerequisites.
Program-Specific Variations: Keep in mind that acceptance rates may vary across programs. For highly competitive programs such as Health Sciences, Media, or Engineering Technology, which may have a high cut-off and/or a cap on enrolment, the program acceptance rate may be less than the total acceptance rate.
Importance of Early Applications: Centennial has a rolling admissions policy for those students applying from outside of Canada, applying sooner will also increase your chances of receiving an offer, as well as giving you time to arrange your study permits and visa applications. Those applying after that date will be able to realize only a reduced program schedule.
International Student Demand: With 14,000 international students in attendance, Centennial is an excellent destination for international students wishing to come to Canada. And though the admissions rate is not terribly low, increasing international interest makes it such that qualified students should have a comprehensive, polished application to maximize their chances.
