Scholarships offered by the Federation University

Pathway Scholarship

University offers 20% reduction on entire pathway courses fee such as Foundation and Higher Education Diploma. For Eligibility, International students must be aspiring to enroll for pathway courses in 2025 and should hold a valid Australian visa. There is no separate application, university assess during the pathway course application, automatic acceptance is facilitated after successful acceptance of course application.

Accommodation Scholarship

 International students commencing their studies in 2024 at the university with a valid Confirmation of Enrollment,  sufficing requirements of accommodation at university’s Ballarat, Berwick and Gippsland campuses are eligible for AUD 1000 per semester, overall AUD 2000 per year. There is no separate application for this scholarship, automatic assessment during the time of course application by the university

Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Scholarships

University offers comprehensive financial support to postgraduate research students through scholarships, stipends, fee waiver and funding of projects

Research Training Program Stipend Scholarship

university offers generous stipend scholarship to Australian citizens, permanent citizens of Australia and citizens of New Zealand with tax fee AUD 38,000 per year that covers up to AUD 32,000 of entire tuition fee. The last date for the application is October 31st 2024

Entry Requirements for the Federation University Australia

English Language Requirements

  • Students aspiring to take entry in various programs must show their command over English language with required tests scores, the scores may vary as per the programs, few programs also demand higher scores.
  • IELTS Academic – a score between the range of 5.5 to 7.5 with required scores in all components is mandatory
  • TOEFL iBT – overall score should be between 46 to 106, with sub scores of Listening 7-28, Speaking 16-26, Writing 18-27 and Reading 8-24
  • PTE Academic – 42-73 overall score range, with required scores in all sections as per the program
  • Cambridge English – 162-191 overall score range with required scores in all components according to the programs

Non-Tests Evidence of English Language Proficiency

Specific Requirements for High Demanding Courses

  • Few courses at the university demands more English language tests scores
  • Nursing – 7.0 overall and 7.0 in all components in IELTS
  • Psychology – 7.0 overall and no component less than 6.5 in IELTS
  • Teaching & Education – 7.5 overall score and 7.0 in Writing and Reading, 8.0 in Speaking and Listening
  • Optional English Test (OET) is accepted for nursing course with ‘B’ grade in all bands
