South East Technological University (SETU) was formed on May Day 2022, after merging two institutes of technology. The university is a public technological university in the south east of Ireland, it has five campuses in different parts of south east Ireland, Waterford, Carlow, Wexford, Rathnew and Kilkenny. The university is fifth largest in the geographical limits of Ireland.

Shannon College of Hotel Management is the first hotel management college of Ireland. The idea was first conceived and founded by Brendon O’Regan, an Irish business tycoon in 1951. The college is based in County Clare, Shannon Airport. In 2015, the college was fully encompassed into the University of Galway.
