The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is a polytechnic institution in British Columbia with venues in Burnaby, a district municipality of Metro Vancouver, and the city of Richmond. Established in 1964, the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is one of British Columbia’s largest post-secondary institutions. It serves more than 42,500 students each year and provides an important focus on experiential learning with more than 300 full-time, part-time and apprenticeship programs. The college is comprised of five main campuses: Burnaby, Downtown Vancouver, Marine, Aerospace Technology, and Anancies Island. With a graduating employment rate of 96–97%, and an acceptance rate of 64%, BCIT has a history of training industry-ready students in jobs that are in high demand throughout Canada and beyond.

Marine Campus: This Marine site became operational with a nautical/ maritime theme. It will include a marine bridge simulator and provision for the training of students who want to work in marine engineering, navigation, and safety at sea.
Aerospace Technology Campus: This campus offers their variety of programs from aircraft maintenance, aircraft engineering to pilot training program and it is not too far from the Vancouver airport.
Anancies Island Campus: This campus belongs to the industrial and transport technologies. It is home to BCIT’s Heavy Mechanical Trades programs and a fully functional industrial rail yard where students can gain hands-on experience.
Scholarships Offered by British Columbia Institute of Technology
International Student Entrance Award: This scholarship is presented to outstanding overseas students. Funding ranges from CAD 1 000 to CAD 4 000. Applicants must be entering a first full-time program at BCIT and should demonstrate need and academic ability.
BCIT President’s Entrance Award: The scholarship is valued up to $6000 and is available to Canadian and International students who have done well academically and in the community.

Trades Discovery Scholarship: Students studying a technical program can apply for this scholarship. Each scholarship is worth CAD 2,000 and is awarded to someone who shows financial need and the desire to start and finish a career as a tradesperson or skilled worker.
High School Entrance Award: Students at high school level at home and abroad can apply for this endowment, which carries a maximum of CAD 3,000. Candidates should have a high school grade report that shows academic accomplishment along with a leadership or extracurricular participation background.

Entry Requirements at British Columbia Institute of Technology
Undergraduate Admission: Applicants to undergraduate program must have completed high school or equivalent. Program requirements depend on the program, although most require outstanding achievement in three areas: English, mathematics, and relevant science. Clearly there are only a finite number of places and popular courses may have higher entry requirements.
Postgraduate Programs: In post-graduate/certificate/diploma courses the candidate must have passed in a suitable diploma or degree. Some programs, especially in business and technology, may require a certain amount of work experience or a portfolio of work.
