Scholarships offered by the Australian Catholic University

ACU International Student Scholarship – university offers scholarship to overseas students who are commencing education or aspiring to enroll at the university. 20 scholarships are offered with 50% tuition fee waiver. For eligibility, students must ensure the following conditions

  • Must be international student, fee paying and full-time student at the university
  • It only confers scholarship to degree coursework of the university
  • Students must have at least 80%, which is equivalent to 5.8 GPA on a scale of 7.0 in previous studies
  • Students should not have studied earlier at the university, not under the category of exchange program, not receiving any other scholarship.
  • Evidence of marks percentage
  • Selected students will have to submit translated transcripts with clear demonstration of marks
  • Apart from academic excellence, university may consider the student’s origin country.
  • A minimum 4.7 GPA is mandatory to apply for this scholarship, and should pass all the subjects of the program
  • Scholarship is subject to full on-time payment of tuition fee
  • Students who are beneficiaries of this scholarship also gets the opportunity to serve as ambassador of the university

ACU International Students Accommodation Scholarship – university offers 20% discount on accommodations with a valid contract of 12 months to international students. The following are the conditions for the scholarship grant

  • International students who are aspiring, commencing or current students at the university for undergraduate programs
  • On-campus students at the campuses of North Sydney, Canberra, Strathfield, Blackstone and Ballarat.
  • Applicable only on availability of rooms, students can extend the agreement if they wish
  • Scholarship covers all types of accommodations, including studio, premium studios as well.
  • Students must submit an essay of 300 words describing benefits of scholarship, goals of the life and tackling obstacles in the way of education
  • University will assess the essay, based on the essay, scholarship will be awarded
  • Students should also clear at least 2/3rd of the enrolled credits

Entry Requirements for the Australian Catholic University

For Undergraduate Courses

  • The selection is based on Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or Overall Position (OP) Scores
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) is also accepted for admission
  • Previous Study, Vocational Education and Admission Tests score are also considered
  • Scores accepted (ATAR system)
  • 50 for Bachelor’s program
  • 00 for associate, advanced or certified programs
  • Applicants must note that these scores are indicative, university may ask for higher scores as per the course preference
  • Few courses need extra percentage in specified subjects like mathematics and science
  • For Nursing and Education programs pre registration is mandatory

For English Language Proficiency

  • IELTS – 6.0 general score, 6.0 in all components
  • TOEFL iBT – 79 general score with 21 at least in writing
  • PTE Academic – least minimum score of 50 with no less than 50 in communication

For Postgraduate Courses

  • A bachelor’s degree from recognized university is mandatory
  • Graduate Diplomas and Certificates may be sufficient for some courses
  • Courses related to health and education requires registration and experience
  • PhD & MPhil courses need brilliant academic record and research proposal
